Refrigerated freight services in Europe

Refrigerated freight forwarding is of key importance for each European country, as it ensures deliveries of big volumes of food products (frozen or fresh), as well as of flowers and many other products, including chemicals.

By combining the services of the freight forwarders, the European countries are able to receive all necessary deliveries of goods which are crucial for the food stores, restaurants, homes, flower shops and others.

This logistics service is important for the producers of fruits, vegetables, mat, flowers as well as for the farm and aqua farm owners.

Thanks to the refrigerated forwarding services, home owners and restaurant clients can enjoy a wide variety of foods from different countries of origin.

Avoiding the risks for the goods forwarded via refrigerated freight services

If the goods are not stored and transported at the required temperature levels, there is a risk of changes in their composition and properties which can lead to the deterioration of their quality. Outside impacts such as a raise or lowering of the temperature levels, mechanical impact or the absorption of water vapor can all lead to risks for the products transported. For goods such as: potatoes, onions, grain and others there is a risk of them sprouting if the humidity levels are too high.

The transport vehicles utilized by the network of freight forwarders can ensure that the required temperature levels are maintained at all times. The transported goods are isolated from outside impact such as: rising or lowering temperature levels, dust, water vapor and mechanical impact.

Conditions under which the fresh, frozen and deep frozen products are forwarded

Transport vehicles which have refrigerating aggregate are needed for the transport of fresh, frozen and deep frozen goods. Temperature levels above 0 degrees Celsius need to be ensured for the transport of fresh food products, while lower temperature levels need to be maintained for the logistics of frozen and deep frozen foods.

The companies from the European logistics network forward such products while ensuring constant temperature control with the help of state-of-the-art tools for temperature control.

The cross docking service for fresh, chilled and frozen products

With the combined efforts of the member companies of the freight transport association, we are able to provide a cross docking service for the producers and retailers who need refrigerated freight forwarding services for their products to various European destinations.

The cross docking centers are used for unloading the goods from one refrigerated vehicle and loading them into another which is going to the final destination. This allows customers to forward cargo such as complete loads with the refrigerated vehicles of the freight forwarding association to a certain cross docking center, where they can be re-distributed to two or more final destinations by being loaded together with other goods in groupage refrigerated freight forwarding vehicles.
